hello
We have 12 chicks 6-7 weeks old. Look to be fully feathered. When is it safe to move them outside? We live in northern Virginia. Temperatures are up and down.

we got snow last night in Indiana. Not much just a dusting. Mine are about 6 weeks now and starting to fly a little. I need to get the coop area in the bard finished so I can get the gals out there. It was 55 yesterday and now in the 20's I hope mother nature starts to cooperate

They can be weaned off of heat by 4 weeks. I moved mine out at 5 weeks, lows in 30s, no heat, they did fine.

Up & down is right! 70s during the day and snow at night? This is making me nutty! :barnieAlso making it hard to plan a garden. I am totally off topic...
I am also a first time chick Mom in Virginia so I’ll be tuned in for answers on this too! Our chicks will be 6 weeks on the 18th. I hope Spring comes to stay by then!
