Today I decided the chicks were old enough and things were ready for them to move into their new coop. I have two coops joined together to make what I call the "Chicken Condo" One portion is 4 x 6 and that used to be my deer hunting blind, this is the part I moved them into today. The second part is 5 x 8 and has the nesting boxes mounted for when they start laying.

They grew so fast from the little peeps I brought home about 4 weeks ago

I told my wife that since I have moved them out of the basement brooder, that leaves room to get those few Rhode Island Reds and a couple of Barred Rocks I'd been wanting to have around here.

She was speechless.....does that mean Yes?

Steve,

I was thinking the same thing! My husband just walked in the door, he has been working out of town this week. I told him we need to finish up the coop so the older chicks can move outside. They went from chicks to chickens since last week!

Come on spring!!

Look at those babies! How fast they grow. Time for some new ones! Mason probably still has some!! You know you want to, Steve!

YES!! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THAT MEANS!! Or, if it isn't, you should get those new chicks BEFORE she clarifies her NO!! RUN, don't walk back to the store!! lol

I got a clarification about her silence....believe me after 30 years of wedded bliss I know that I need to get clearance before takeoff.....

She stopped at the chicken condo after work, and said "hunny if you want some of those Red Islands and Rocky bars that is fine, but I think we need some chickens that we can eat this fall"

Yep, my hubby has been making incredible strides this last year or two in the animal department. He even offered, without me asking, to add onto the barn. Yep, trained her right, I did!! lol

Glad to hear your wife is in agreement, definitely makes life easier that way.
