I'm considering building a new chicken coop, will the move disrupt the recently started egg laying ? Will I need to keep them locked in the new coop so they will accept as their new home ?

    Thank You.

Quote:yes, it will disturb them but make them excited at the same time as chickens are nosey funny creatures...I would keep them locked in their new coop for a tad just so they know where their new home is-I did it last year and dang it if they didnt keep going back to the old old to go to bed! I finally had to lock the old one up becasue picking them off the roosts and moving 6 full grown birds was a bit much! [IMG]

Thanks Sonew123. That was along my thoughts, although, I'm not looking forward to the neighbors catching me carrying the chickens to their new roost.
