Hi! I'm moving to the Kingston area and will very likely be able to make a place for birds by the end of August. I'd like to get some started pullets, something cold tolerant and willing to lay as late in the year as possible. Does anyone in the area have any hens to spare for a newbie moving too late in the year to start egg layers for this fall?

I'm also interested in some meat birds, but those I can raise from little. I'll order those online unless somebody has some in the area and needs to offload them. I'm not picky about what kind, partly because I don't know much yet, but partly because I'm the only chicken eater in my family, so they don't need to be huge birds.

    Thank you for any leads!!

Hi I did send you that PM with that ad for you to see. I've just ordered some of the Buff Orpingtons which are suppose to be a real cold hardy bird. [IMG] Now it's waiting for them. [IMG] LOL
