Does anyone have an idea how I can get the mud icicles off my white crested ducks? They were playing in a mud hole and now they are frozen and dangling and heavy. How do I get them off her?

Bring her into a shelter that is above freezing.

Sounds like either their preen glands aren't working or their plumage is in bad condition. Usually there would be no water remaining to freeze among the feathers.

Thank you for the replies. She (Lady GaGa, as I have named her) is clear of the mudsicles today-either it warmed up enough or she was able to clear them herself. I was ready to bring her in the house if I had to.
