why do my ducks pick up mud and put it in their fresh clean water pond I just cleaned ( do they just hate me? )

Because that's what ducks do. It is the bane of our existence, and of our clean pools and water bowls we try to provide for them. Ducks are partially filter feeders, so they like to dabble around in mud and dirt for tiny bits of organic material to eat. That is why they take mouthfuls of dirt/mud to their water to filter out (and also why they like to make ugly mudholes in their pens). It's just a duck thing. ^-^
