I am noticing as I read everyone's posts, that a pattern is emerging. Everyone who has a broody, wants her to snap out of it, and everyone who wants a broody, doesn't get one. What a bummer.

Not I said the fly. My broody currently has 10 eggs under her.

Do I need 10 more chickens? Nope, but some may not hatch - some will be boys - gotta give her enough eggs to get a splash baby (blue hen and blue rooster) etc. Then I HAVE to put a few welsummers under her also and some of those will be boys......Chicken Math at it's finest.
