My moscovy has been sitting on a nest in the coop for a couple of weeks. This is the first time she chosen to nest in side. My question is will this affect the hatch rate? Without the moisture from the ground?

Two of my ducks hatched clutches last year, and they were in their own small coops in a run. The eggs sat in a nest box with straw in it. The ducks knew to bathe and return, damp, to the nest. They had great hatch rates and very healthy ducklings.

Does she have access to water she can bathe in? If so, she should be able to control the moisture level in the nest.

Good luck!
