I am brand new to ducks. I got 5 muscovy chicks in aug. They are all from the same clutch. Looks like I have 2 males and 3 females. I want eggs for my family and meat. Is it ok to let these siblings breed? Birdmom101

You'll find people on both sides of the argument around inbreeding or "line breeding". The risk to line breeding is that you can "amplify" negative characteristics or genetic problems because of the lack of genetic diversity; conversely, you can also amplify positive genetic characteristics by limiting the gene pool. Personally, I have line bred and outcrossed animals and have had good experiences with both.

Here's a BYC thread with discussion that may be helpful in making your decision: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/409262/is-it-ok-for-ducks-to-mate-with-brothers-and-sisters.

    Enjoy your ducklings!
