So we thought our hen was a drake so I haven't done any research and wasn't expecting eggs. Just came home and found one in her box. All the chickens lay brown eggs and this is white so he is for sure a she. Anyway not sure how long the egg has been there so i did a float test and it stayed on the bottom. Is that the same for ducks and chickens? Also the egg is rather bumpy, almost like a concrete texture. Is this normal? I can't find much info on their eggs.

First few eggs are a little wonky sometimes. :)

Ok it was like that with the chickens I didn't know if these were supposed to be like that or if they should be smooth
