i have heard in the past that Muscovy duck eggs are hard to incubate? Followed up with hens being very capable there was little need to incubate. Anyone have any thoughts or feedback on this? Looking to get some eggs for a classroom project.

I'd like to know as well. Hopefully you'll get some input.

I have incubated Muscovy eggs many times and have had great hatches. I learned to not add water to start with. I check air cells and mark and weigh each egg. I don't use a turner, I turn the eggs with the palm of my hand in a circular motion. takes 35 days

    When did you add water?

I did not add water to the troughs of the incubator
You can mist and cool the eggs once a day after day 10- cool for 10-15 min a day. If your air cells are too great then hold off on the misting. It all really depends on how your eggs are looking. Its a good idea to weigh your eggs with a small gram scale/ if your eggs lose less than 2.8% each week the humidity is too high. If they lose more than the 2.8% then the humidity is too low. you would add water accordingly. I like to use a small cup and add water to that its easier to regulate. I hatch at 99.5 and increase humidity when I see they have internally pipped. 60% or better not higher than 70%
