Gah, I feel like I'm making a new thread every other day. I hope the duck community here doesn't mind; I'm still newer to keeping ducks so I keep racing here for advice every time a doubt/concern comes up.
I was just outside and feeding the ducks their dinner when one of my hens belatedly runs up to join the feast. I notice her left wing is hanging down...She is about 13 weeks old, and--raising her mother and father from when they were ducklings, and with all her other siblings--I'm used to the ends of their wings dropping every now and again while they are still growing.
This doesn't look like that. Her whole wing droops; I have attached pictures. I am a little baffled as she has had no diet changes; we feed them Purina chicken scratch grains (I can find the exact one online if anyone would like me to) and she free ranges all day. They were weaned off of Mazuri Waterfowl Feed (the kibble kind) but that was over a week ago, probably over two.
I even picked her up, and also looking from the ground, examined her for other wounds, but there were none. She didn't seem in pain at all when I gently stretched out her wing half-way.
I have no idea if this will correct overnight, or if I'm worrying for nothing. But I figured I'd make a post, if this could possibly be angel wing or something else, to know what to do if this ever happens to my ducks again.
But who knows. Maybe I'm just being a nervous Nelly. (I tend to worry a lot...)
