I recently hatched a duckling that was unlike any I had expected. I keep 2 mallards 1 drake and one hen, 1 pekin hen, and a muscovy drake. Now pekins are yellow as chicks, and have orange feet. the same with mallards but they have some brown patterning and their bodies. Muscovys are black and yellow and have partially black feet with orange. The duckling hatched at day 25. (What? It should at least be 28 days, or higher because muscovies have higher incubation times. Hybrid vigor, maybe?) It is black with yellow on his breast and wing tips. It also has the very same patterning that a mallard duckling has on its head. except for it is hard to see because it is on top of black, not yellow. Its legs are jet black except for a few spots that are orange. I need one of you to tell me if he is a hybrid or not. pic up in a min.
