my 10 wk barred rock & buff orp are totally facinated by 4 wk old chicks

i have my chicks in their own territory w/chicken wire between them & the four big girls. the big girls are so facinated by the babies. they pace back & forth @ the chicken wire & talk to the babies. the babies come close, but not close enough for me to know if the big ones will peck & hurt them or not.
the wyandotte is somewhat facinated, the black australorp looks like she'd like to knock them off, & the buff orp & the barred rock are completely in thrawl.

Aw cute! It's interesting to see how that works.. When i had mine I think the big chickens didn't even notice them lol or they just didn't care.

I have one RIR hen who is doing the same thing! The others hate the babies right now but that one hen sat in the SAME spot ALL night and just watched over them. Everytime I got up and peeked on them she was still there!
