So it was a long hatch, when she had both feet out of the egg I looked at them. I guess it's that 10 toes 10 fingers instinct that moms have. They both looked fine. But her umbilicAl cord was still attached to the egg and stayed that way over night. The next morning I noticed she had a ballooned foot. A huge blister on her foot. All around the far left nail. This kept her from standing or walking. I soaked it in warm water and it popped on its own, but today it's filling back up. I've looked everywhere for an answer to this but I just keep getting info on bumble foot. And I don't think that's what it is. She's been in a clean environment. Her flooring is a baby blanket laid flat. Anyone have any experience with this?

Could she have gotten the nail caught on her blanket anywhere? That might have caused her to injure herself trying to get it unstuck. Other than that, I really don't know how such a young duck could get something like that. Strange. Wish I could be of more help!
