My Angel is a cuddler!!!

While Angel is recooping I still have her in a tub. I take her into my bedroom at night so she won't get lonesome. Last night she was looking up at me with those sad lonesome ducky eyes. I thought, what the heck. I put a towel down next to me in bed and reached down and grabbed her. She layed down and closed her eyes and cuddled up right along side me tucking her bill against my neck... Yep I'm losing it. I let her stay there for a while and then put her back into the tub.

What a special few moments the two of you shared.

I used to have Regie in my room- she was permanently disabled since hatching- and was a very special little girl. She never grew very big and even at a year old still had some of her baby fuzz- she never molted. When I turned out the light at night- that was her signal that it was time for a chat. Sometimes I did like you- and grabbed a towel for a snuggle- but mostly we just talked to each other. She would quack in her soft little voice- and I would return with a little quack or noise of my own. I fell asleep most nights that way- so tired I could barely continue quacking softly to her - falling asleep to her sweet little voice. I still have trouble falling asleep even now some night when I go to bed and think of her...how much I miss seeing her sweet little face and hearing her happy voice.

So glad to hear that through all of this you and Angel have bonded in such a way. Dealing with a sick pet is never easy- but its time like you have written about that help to ease the hardship and make it seem so very worthwhile to preserve and to continue the TLC.

Our Duck Vinny loves to sleep with us. He'll take a seat under your arm and just be content snoozing and snuggling there until you move. He's a little lover.
