My Araucana eggs hatched (PICS)

They actually hatched on Saturday, but the holiday has kept me really busy.

I woke up to 2 pips. The kids were really excited. As we waited another hatched under out nose. It must have piped on the underside. The other two pips waited awhile then a second hatched. Well by then family showed up and I didn't have much time to watch. At dinner time I realized the third pip had not hatched. I decided to intervene since it had been 6 hours and the cheeps had slowed down considerably. It was going fine, and then I hit a blood vessel. Back into the bator he went. After an hour I went back and finished. Out the pretty thing came. It was very weak, I wasn't sure it was going to make it. I'm glad I intervened when I did. It did make it along with two others. I am happy with 3 out of 8. Wish it was more, but I'll take what I can get.

Here is the rescued one. It is really pretty, but I have no idea what color that one will be.

And best of all...the rescued one has tufts

Congrats on the hatch! The one from the mixed pen is going to be black...looks like it might be tufted too. Great job on the rescued baby..she will be white and looks to have great tufts.

Jody, If the black one has tufts they are really small. I noticed something there, but I didn't want to call it too soon. You really think the silver one will be white huh? Oh well, I'm just happy it survived. They are all really sweet.

How cute.that little black and yellow one looks similar to my babies......mine are Australorps and some Aussie mixed with Buff Orp
