They grow up so fast - the fuzzy butt stage is gone so quickly. Just Wednesday the 1st one pipped and was born shortly after that. Then another and another. Finally the last chick hatched Friday morning and our new clutch emerged.

Has it really been 3 days already. I've been carefully watching and waiting - praying that no one gets pasty butt. Checking their little tiny butts for openings that can pass whatever needs passing. Watching them drink and eat and peck each other. I see the tiny feathers starting on their wings and I know that tail feathers are not far behind. Some will most likely be roos - but just for now I'm enjoying my newest hatchlings. Welcome to the world my beautiful 5 lavender orpingtons, 1 partridge silkie and 2 lavender silkies.
