We adopted 3 female pullets in September and we have been anxiously awaiting the day that they started to lay eggs. Today we were surprised by a rooster crowing in our backyard! Our family is heartbroken because we love these chickens but we cannot keep a rooster in the backyard of our Clairemont home. Any ideas how we can find, "Edwina" now "Edwin", a good home where he won't be eaten. [IMG]

    Thanks for your help.

Sorry about this :( happens all the time unfortunately.

You could try advertising him online and just be very picky about where he goes. You could take him to a poultry swap if you have those where you live. Or if there is a thread for your area on here you could see if any fellow BYCers are I interested.
