It's a rule that all the critters at our house have to earn their keep. The dogs do it by being supermodels for calendars, commercials and magazines. The birds got their first gig last week. Here are some of the unedited pics. They are learning to go to their Mark and stop and peck, and random other behaviors so that when the right time comes for their tv debut they are ready.

I think Lucky Clucky used to be a show bird. I put her on top of the coop she was hunched over like a vulture (which was kinda cool) but then I tickled under her tail feathers like I would to a terrier to get a perky tail for the judge and she put hers right up and left it there. She got some yummy corn and worms. Henny penny works quickly for worms and the chick was just busy checking everything out.

Awesome pics! Good to see someone who enjoys taking pictures as much as I do. :) Could I use these for my poultry book?

I sent her a note. She's a pro photographer but usually is nice about letting us use the images. She dogs a LOT of my dogs. :) and we've had her shoot our rodeo at our horse club too. these were her first chicken shots. here's a couple of Mr. Martinez you might like. He's my friends chicken. he's super tiny but very full of himself. the first pic is in the coop w her shooting, I took w my iphone. Mr. M was a most excellent chicken model. He's so used to being handled he just posed away. He sure looks fake in that pic. hes' super tiny but looks big!

Also, since I haven't had my chickens long, I wasn't sure they would not fly away, so we had to shoot in the bachelor wing of my chicken compound. She was very limited with light, etc. She's an amazing photographer. and a rocket scientist. What a combo.
