Hi all
please advise my black chicken has been sitting on about 12 eggs 1 has hatch so far a cute chicken I found 1 dead but NO others have hatched and since the live one its been about 1 week .
she is on her own and eggs were given to her to sit on at same time do you think the other eggs will survive or not thanks

How long has she been sitting on them for all up?

Normally they take 21 days to hatch, and can go over by a few days depending on varying factors, but if a week has passed since the live chick hatched out, it doesn't bode well for you.

I would candle the remaining eggs and see what's happening. Do it at dusk so as not to disturb your hen too much.

My thoughts are that she will abandon the remaining eggs shortly anyway to raise her sole chick. In fact, I'm surprised she hasn't done so already.
