Okay so I have 4 hens, all 13 months old. I noticed my Black Sex Link, Rosie, is acting a little strange. I had a hen die from egg binding about 5 months ago, she wasn't eating or drinking or moving. Rosie isn't really moving much, but when I bring food to the fence, she runs up to get some. She's running a little different than she usually does though. She also seems to be a little bunched up. Do you know what this is??

Just from this description it could be any number of things - since one of those things is egg-binding and it is relatively easy to check for I would suggest you start there. Pick up your bird and do a gentle feel from the outside to see if you palpate an egg-like mass, you can also check by lubricating and inserting a finger into the vent. if there is an egg you will encounter it without having to go very far (about an inch or so). If you do determine her to be egg-bound we can advise on how to address that - if not, we can move on to the next possible issue.

I didn't feel an egg... Could they act slow like that from weather? It's been getting colder.
