My blue australorp chicks. how many roos?

Here are my 6 blue Aussies I think 3 are Roos and 3 are hens. I am a bit unsure about orange it might be a roo too. What do you guys think? These are all hatchery stock. How do they compare to sop? They are around 6 weeks old.

They need to grow to a young adult to determine sop. But looks like you do have several cockerels.

I know blue and red are Roos. I think yellow is too and I’m starting to wonder about the orange banded one. At this stage I think I will keep mr blue for breeding. But we will see. Is it unusual for the best looking chick to not be the best looking adult?

Blue and Red are boys for sure.

I'm suspicious of Yellow and Orange, but I've had some fast-developing pullets fool me at 6-8 weeks.

I actually find my Blue Australorps easier to sex at 4 weeks than at 6 weeks. And I have, so far, gotten several pullets falsely ID'd as male and no cockerels falsely ID'd as female.

I haven’t had great luck on my straight runs. I only have 1 pullet out of my batch of CCLs lol. At least I’ll have a lot of Roos to choose from.

They are beautiful. I want blues so badly. My entire flock are black australorps. 1 rooster, 6 layers and two young pullets. We have hatched 3 eggs. 1 cockerel and 2 pullets.

I think blue and red are definitely cocks. I had a chick who looked like the orange tagged one at 4/5/6 weeks and she turned out to be a pullet. I went back and forth with her for weeks. At eight weeks it was clear she was a girl.
