I had a broody who hatched three chicks two weeks ago. I tried her outside with one of her chicks on Tuesday but she left it behind (and it disappeared [IMG] ). Now she's broody again. Sitting in the nest box and not leaving. Is it ok for me to give her more eggs to set on? She did get off her nest to eat and drink everyday while she was setting and didn't seem to lose any weight. She did a great job of hatching the eggs she just made a crappy mom.

    What do you guys think?

I probably would try hard to dissuade her. Even if she doesn't seem like she lost weight, being broody is very hard on them physically. I would probably put her in solitary until she laid an egg, kick her back out, then let her go broody next time she tries.
