Welcome! Wrap that cage with hardware cloth ASAP, before the chicks escape into kitty's tummy.
This won't end well; they must be separate until nearly fully grown up.

Just got ours tonight, and kitty thinks he's watching a microwave . I put ours in the bathroom so kitty has an eye on him while he's around the chicks.
