Usually, I leave my two 4-5 week old chickens to roam the house since I do not have a coop just yet. But yesterday, I noticed her like out of it, she would move but not as much as she is used to, and she had some saliva in her beak. I read that black pepper, garlic, and oregano is good for them in case if it is a respiratory issue, but I am not too sure...

P.S.
I couldn’t get a picture of her since she is not willing to open her beak only when she “cries”.

Nothing to worry about.. Give them some timilcox solution if you have.. Or any respiratory oral antibiotic.. Though nothing to really worry about.

Probably blocked or sour crop... is she eating or drinking anything? Has she had access to grit or standard chick feed? What is fed regularly?

I completely disagree with the first responder and think this is likely an emergency.

If blocked crop is not your issue... then it could be coccidiosis. Depends on the symptoms you are seeing. Both are deadly fast.

Don't give you birds ANYTHING without getting a second opinion.

Hope you chick recovers quickly! :fl

She is eating fine and is drinking perfectly, I usually feed them rice since I ran out of feed, but I do not have grit, but I did just get chicken feed of the highest quality

Thank you, and where do you find timilcox solution or do I make it?
I got mine from the local chicken market.. But you can search it on amazon just search timilcox solution on google or go to your chicken market and the brand i recommend casava which is made in Argentina.. Just put a table spoon in a cup of water and give it to them

That is not a full diet for a chick.. Please make them a mixture of corn wheat and soya if you have at home.. Rice is not recommended for a full diet
