My chicken hurt her toe....please help!

So our poor chicken got her toe shut in the coop door on accident tonight. It split her toe nail and cut the tip of the toe. I have stopped the bleeding. I have it wrapped up now she is separated from the others. Should I leave it wrapped till morning? Should I take her to the vet tomorrow? Thanks!

Welcome to BYC. Toe injuries can be a bit painful, but most do not require a vet's care. I would probably clean it and apply some iodine to it. I would put her back in with the others with some observation tomorrow. Many times the nail will fall off, or if it is just barely hanging there, you can clip it off.

Thank you! I did clean it well last night now today it is dirty. Do I worry about it? She seems great this morning! She is eating and drinking still and now she is snuggled with my daughter on the couch!
