my chicken laid a golf ball!

    I went to gather eggs yesterday and found a golf ball in a shell! We have put golf balls in the nesting boxes to encourage egg laying, but this is the first I've ever seen anything like this!! does anyone have an explanation? I did take a picture!

    If you've got proof I bet she'd be in the Guiness Book of records. OUCH! Or maybe she said "FORE!"

    Seriously!?!?!? So, she at the golf ball and then it went all the way through her system and a shell formed around it?!?!?

    This doesn't sound possible! If it is true it would be amazing but for a hen to eat something and then lay it cannot be true... when a hen eats something it goes through the digestive tract and then out the poop shoot. An egg is developed inside the bird and then out of the vent... where an egg is made is not connected to the digestive system... right?
