Well, my chickens are going to be famous! i had been trying to set up a time to take them in to be vaccinated for Fowl Pox. My vet, Dr. Jyl, occasionally appears on a local morning news show demonstrating various animals and treatments. So they asked if i wanted to have my chickens on tv while they got vaccinated. i said "Why not". So tomorrow, December 22nd, i will awake in predawn hours and wrangle 26 sleepy chickens into carriers and trek to my vet's office. Channel 31 News will be there filming live. They are a local Sacramento, California station. My understanding is that this will be shown between the hours of 7-8am. i'm going to be nice and try to get my chickens to come out and perform their morning constitutional before putting them into carriers. But i have four broodies and may not have time for them. i'm sure Channel 31 News has no idea what happens when you pull a broody off her nest, after she's been sitting there over 12 hours. It should be fun!
