any help would be awesome thx
You can add artificial daylight so they get the needed 14 hours of light a day. A light bulb on a timer will help. I only set mine to light the coop at 4:30 am to 7:15 am then, they wake up from sleep, eat, drink and before long it's light outside so they are happy. Last year I divided the added light some in the evening and then in the morning. They then came in when it got dark but, they didn't go to bed because the coop was light and they would peck at each other.
ok thank you very much
My 5 chickens haven't layed an egg in over a month. I haven't added any light ....just letting them do what ever they're suppose to be doing. I guess with the days being short and them going through their first major molt(18 months) their bodies are taking a break from making eggs. Just waiting it out.....
ok thank you my chickens just started laying in the summer for about two or three months
