Hello everyone! I've noticed now that my chickens are starting to grow quite a few of them run away from me and don't like being picked up. Usually almost all of them will try and eat out of my hand. However some of them will thrash and flap their wings whenever I try to pick them up. Can anyone give some pointers on how to help my chickens like me and be comfortable around me?

That's really quite normal. Chickens are prey animals and naturally wouldn't take too well to something bigger than them scooping them up. They aren't really renowned for being overly affectionate. However, it sounds like they are really starting to get used to you since they are coming up and eating out of your hand. The best thing to do is to continue spending time with them. Most "lap chickens" comprise of the breeds known for being quite docile such as Orpingtons, Silkies or Brahmas. Keep in mind that some just don't have it in them to be really friendly, and in my opinion, it takes a bird with a somewhat uncommon personality to become a lap chicken. Good luck!

some just dislike human attention period,or just picking up.this could be a teen stage.

Young chickens usually go through mini molts, and molts are "Very" uncomfortable. Possibility it's this.
