My chickens aren’t laying what can I do?

I’m a newer chicken mom… The family who lived at our Ranch before us left us 28 hens & 1 Rooster. Right before move in they said a hawk got the Rooster. We introduced our 6 younger chickens the next week that we bought. Since then our younger hens are the only ones laying eggs. Their 28 hens are not laying eggs. It’s been 2 months… I saw when pack goes through change this happens, but it’s been 2 months. Is there anything I can do to help them?

the older ones(how old in months?) are probably still on winter break.

Depending on where you are in the world, it might be winter, meaning it's normal, and good for their health for mature hens to take a break from laying. By the way, what breed are they

That would help narrow it down.
Also, did the old owners say they were currently laying?

My hens never lay in the winters. When days get longer, they resume.

How older the hens, the longer the winter break.

My youngest (2 yo in Mai) started laying again in the first week of January. The oldies (8yo) probably lay at the end of March their first egg.
