My chickens sleep in the nesting boxes.

My 3 month old chickens rarely use their roost. At night they huddle together in the nesting boxes. What will happen when they start laying eggs? Why won't they use their roost?

do you have a pic you could upload of the roosts? i know all of mine went through that phase, and the closer they got to egglaying they shifted to the roosts-
