im new so forgive me if this is in the wrong forum. i have several chickens but only one really is special to me. that sounds bad i know! but she is the first chicken i ever really "took" to. she is nothing but a pet. shes a silkie mixed with some unknown breed. i bought her after she reached adulthood from my local feed store. she is very quiet and doesnt really mess in anything. and practically housetrained! we have been known to keep her in the house for weeks at a time. she is a excellent broody and mother. very protective over "her" eggs and babies. and tries very hard to teach them well how to look after themselves. i will include some pics and hopefully they will work right. im still not sure of all this putting up pics on websites lol.

Cute pictures. Isn't it fun how they have their own personalities? Who'd have thought?

yea im still learning yet about them. i never woulda thought id have chickens for pets. we had them when i was very young and i remember one hen who was kinda mean. she looked like a leghorn but im not sure what she really was. she pecked me right in the dog-goned eye! ive been kinda skeered of them since. and yes i meant to spell it that way lol.
