On Tuesday, early in the evening, I had the chicks out. They are 7 weeks old and like to play under our lawn tractor, so it is hard to see if they are out. When I came inside there were 6 chicks outside and 14 in the coop, which is in our workshop. So, my MIL lets our big dog out because she thought I put the chicks up. I couldn't find my littlest chick but I found 5 of the 6 chicks that were outside hiding in our treeline and workshop. One of the chick's head was soaked with slobber and it had a small gash on the neck but wasn't bleeding, so my MIL stitched it up. I left the coop open to the workshop because most of them hid in there and the next afternoon my littlest chick showed up in the coop. So they are all back and doing great!

I have the injured one in the house and I think it wants to stay!

It started eating and drinking right after she finished stitching it. I haven't given it anything else (like antibiotics) and it seems to be fine. I do have some, just in case I need it.
