My chicks have a yellow mouth and face with red spots. Please Help!

Hi @wyorprock it’s dark outside now so I can really get any good photos now but I will post some tomorrow. I have been feeding them crushed corn and adult chicken feed with oyster shell.

Maybe you should switch to chick starter and see if they will recover over the next few weeks. I wouldn’t give them oyster shell, I think they are too young.

Do you have vet care?

A vet isn’t really an option for me at the moment

Do you have dandelions? Could it be pollen?

Yes we do have some dandelions

I have had a look today. And their faces aren’t as swollen as they were. Or yellow. I’m thinking that it’s more fight wounds than a disease. There are no yellow clumps in their mouths anymore.
I have been watching them closely and noticed that they do fight ( sizing up to each other) quite often.

It's good there are no more yellow clumps inside the beak.
For the faces, you might try Iodine or a little triple antibiotic ointment.
