My Cochin I bantam had three chicks which are a Buff Orpington chick, a Buff Orp Cochin bantam mix, and a RIR Buff Orp mix, any ideas on sexing? And any ideas for to sex certain breeds, they are about 1 1/2 days old.

You might get a hint, not by any means accurate, by looking at their wing stubs. If you see wings with very even, but almost no buds, it may be male. If you see longer, uneven feather buds, like toothpicks coming out of the edge of the tiny wing, you may have a girl.

In a few more weeks, you may see one with a much redder and more obvious comb, and that may indicate a male.

The best way to get help figuring out the sexes, come back in six weeks and post close-up photos on the "What Breed or Gender is This?" forum. Those guys are really good at telling sex by pics.
