My SLW cockerel, Foodhunter, will rest his eyelids and then after a few seconds bow his head down and pause, as if he’s asleep or something, and as soon as he hears a noise (for example; me calling his name) he’ll look up all alarmed.
Do any of you guys know what’s up with him? I can tell there’s something wrong with his eyes as they are more squinted and sometimes bubbly. 🐔

Foodhunter, “drifting off”

Are both eyes affected and foamy or bubbly? Is there swelling of an eyelid? It could be mycoplasma gallisepticum or MG, a chronic respiratory disease. He may be a bit lethargic and have trouble seeing because of his symptoms. Tylan injectable given orally or tylosin powder in the water may help treat symptoms. Here is some reading about MG:

Both eyes are affected. I will read that now, and judging by the symptoms, he could very well have MG.
Thank you for your help 😊
