So here is the deal.
I have an Australorp that went broody. I decided to get her some fertilized eggs so she could raise some chicks. I wanted to see what happened.
At the time I got the eggs I also got two new Easter eggers that happened to be a bit high strung, they tried to fly away!
Since then my Australorp has been sitting on the eggs and has been doing a good job.
My concerns are:
The two new chickens cuddle in with my Broody and stay with her most of the time. They are not laying.
I have another chicken who was laying and acting 'normal' but as of two days ago has decided to join in on the nesting party and has decided to be broody as well. She is now sitting with my broody, not moving, growling at me if I open the doors.
I now have 5 chickens and no eggs! Is this common? What is going on?
