We've won the drawing in her K-5 class and now have a new addition to our family
we're just wondering if anyone can help identify gender and possible breed.

It's hard to tell at this early of an age. It'll be easier when the chick is older and has more defined marks, but so far, she's looking like a Buff Orpington.
As far as gender goes... That's difficult to tell until they're older. More like week five or six. That chick looks to be about a week old.

This chick hatched 15 days ago tomorrow just fyi
We'll surely have more pics
This is quite the event for the young one
We're still looking for a Lavender & a Black orphington to keep
company with this chick...Only now we'll get little older chicks.
Thanks so much for the input so far :)

I had gotten a few specifics from the K-5 teacher
The eggs we're put into the incubator on March 14th and hatched on April 2.
so Butterscotch is 20 days old

I updated with some new photos on my photography blog,

In case anyone wants to take a look and guess gender :)

We've noticed a few dark splashed feathers in the tips of the wings and at the base of the tail.
It's really cute Bailey says it's like its tattoos...LOL

Anyway check out the photos I tried to get several angles and a close up of the head.
overall on back, full side view
I think it's a pretty chick no matter what,
(But I do need to get one for the other daughter before she get too attached to Butterscotch...LOL)

We're updating Butterscotch images if anyone would like to guess on gender...
If everything goes as 'Scheduled' it should post thru on Thursday
BUTTERSCOTCH'S 1 MONTH BIRTHDAY

We're guessing mixed breeding, The new neck feathers we see have some black
like the tail & wing splashes,
But we think the feathers are going to be quite interesting to see develop
I don't know what we're gonna do when Butterscotch goes to the farm, everyone is so used to listening to
the birds sounds throughout the day & night.

This chick is almost as big as some of the Bantams on the farm already
Very curious to see how much bigger it gets.

Bailey & Andrea get an A+ on the Chicken Project so far
(& I think it funny that after so much disapproval from her Granny,
Granny asked if they sold Chicken Diapers so we could just keep it & let it be a House Pet.)

Who's planning on a Strawberry themed party for her chick this week
