My daughter's chick with a hurt foot.

We are on a second season of raising chicks and this year my daughter was able to adopt one from her kindergarten class. She is absolutely in love with the thing as she got to watch it hatch and care for it everyday for the past 3 weeks. This morning however, the chick has a hurt foot. It refuses to put hardly any weight on it and spends most of its time laying down. I have no idea what happened. I don't know if it is a structural injury or an illness. Is there anything I can do? My poor daughter is heartbroken this morning and was crying all the way to kindergarten. Thanks for the help. -Adam

Wrap the foot and make sure the bird is eating & drinking.
