also have been trying to get into the morning glorys ugh I kinda wish I would.have chosen a different vine for the fence in the yard :( why do plants have to be toxic!!! and pretty ones too I should have done better research but most plants were b.d. (before ducks) I'm just at a loss right now and a lot of work ahead of me is making me feel hopeless I.guess I.could fence them off but I do not have enough fencing right now ugh what to do what to do! it's not like they don't have enough plants for them to eat they get fed 3 times a day 1/2 a cup each and get kale and other treats like peas daily and an occasional watermelon and other treats that are limited to once or twice a month. any words would be nice to read right now thank.you for your time sorry so long I'm slightly irritated :/

I'm thinking of moving the call a Lilly in ground in front of the gate in the front of the house, hopefully passer byers will not mess with it and there is a pretty nice spot for it with lots of morning Sun maybe it will bloom again? just hope I don't put.it in shock by moving it :/ one crisis out of the way many more to go

I am sorry to hear your dilemma, I do have some questions about the toxicity of the plants mentioned. Some plants are toxic to one animal, as well as humans and OK for others.. Example would be ........ Dogs..... no chocolate, grapes, or raisins..and maybe a few other things. Those Items are just IDEAL for us humans. On the reverse.. we can not eat rhubarb leaves.. The stalks are just fine and delicious.. Something is eating my rhubarb leaves in my garden and I am not finding any dead carcasses.. The accepted thinking is that animals usually avoid things that are bad for them by instinct, or maybe it tastes terrible when ingested. ?????. In the wild, there are numerous bad things... I don;t know of animals dying of food poisoning widespread.. Maybe your flowers will not be that dangerous to your ducks, and they may avoid tasting them naturally. I only keep chickens, and they free range. I noticed that they don't eat all the greens, but are rather selective.

WISHING YOU BEST.

Enjoy those beautiful Lillis. Give them sufficient water and I don't think they will be in shock.. Transfer them with generous amount of soil.

I moved the lilies to the front they look nice here and I'm hoping with the extra room they will be more better off plus the sun is not as harsh here and the awesome morning Sun hits this spot very nicely thank you for responding I recently read the morning glorys are poisonous to people too

If you have some extra time to read. go to the search bar and
Search Results for “eatible wild plants”

You can just get lost there. Expect to keep reading for a while. Hard to leave. LOL LOL

I can see Cavemanrich's point. I hate to say it but my yard is chock full of toxic plants that have been listed. My Ducks, dog and cats ignore them. I have quite alot of Milkweed for Monarchs, it self sows like crazy. I have seen a duckling try an exploratory nibble and shake it's head violently and avoid it like the plague ever since. I love foxgloves and Lily's, same thing, nary a nibble. I wonder if part of their protection is a bitter or unpleasant taste. One thing I do also which could be bad or good, depending on the way you look at it is... I order bulk lettuce seeds online from Eden Gardens, a lb. for 8 dollars or so. I sprinkle it every where. I constantly have lettuce popping up all over. I re sprinkle as it is discovered by the ducks or anytime I disturbe the soil gardening. it grows/sprouts quickly. Its surprisingly tough with enough water. Duck areas tend to be damp. It gets my Muscovies out from under my patio table and out in the yard looking lettuce and bugs. tiny seedling of lettuce tend to hide out very well in the shade of other plants, if they make it even for alittle while they will come back with new leaves after being duck mowed. I think I ordered three Lbs. of different types and I'm no where near getting through it. The Arugala and water cress seed did amazingly well but its gone to seed all over my yard because the ducks dont fancy it. In the heat of summer lettuce does slow down and flower quickly if it lasts that long.
I gues the point I'm trying to make is that I have toxic plants right next to their absolute favorites. They are savvy enough to pick choose exactly what they want, and avoid with laser precision anything they don't. The danger of toxic plants I feel, would be, if they were the only thing bored or hungry ducks had to browse on. I wouldnt put a toxic plant say in a Duck run where they are confined. In the end you need to feel comfortable about your pets safety, this is only my experience, I'm by no means a duck expert. Hope this helps.
