A green egg amongst the brown was quite unexpected!
It was much smaller and looked as if one of the other girls pecked at it!!![IMG]

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Nice eggs! Sometimes they will peck at eggs, which can lead to egg eating. I try to collect my eggs as soon as possible, I keep fake eggs on all the boxes which helps fool the birds into thinking all eggs are impenetrable, and I use curtains over the front of my boxes. Hens generally wont play with eggs in a darkened nest box.

Enjoy all those eggs! Very pretty! I still find joy in finding those treasures in the nest boxes.

    Welcome to our flock!! :)

I was wondering where the green egg went. At least I now know it wasn't a vision problem. Welcome to Backyard chickens.
