Hi!

This thread is about how I am dealing with the bumblefoot in my flock. Hopefully it helps others in the future!

Background: two weeks ago, I noticed a small black scab on the feet of several of my chickens. I came back from vacation and did a health survey. Turns out twelve out of thirteen hens in my main flock have mild cases of bumblefoot on one or both feet. I have a variety of breeds. I think the bumblefoot came from the high roosts, rocks in my backyard where they get free time, and non-sanded surfaces. I am getting supplies to treat it today and I will update this thread as the chickens are treated and heal.

Suggestions welcome!

Sorry this took so long! I will post some pics when I can get them. We are going to start the procedures tonight. We got some Prid drawing salve, some Equate cotton bandaging, and some Equate self-adhering bandaging. The one chicken who didn't have any bumbles may have a small one now. Any suggestions are welcome!
