What a wonderful suprise when I ventured out to the coop this evening. I had to work..... all day... ick! and when I arrived home I got 7 eggs.... the most yet. and one was the MOST perfect BABY BLUE color I've ever seen.

I'm in heaven. I have a pink layer, blue layer, green layer and a mix of browns and white and creams.

McMurray Hatchery and Nancy at BluffCountrySheperdess ROCKS!

GC Maran on the upper right, the two green ones are from my EE. The blue ones are from my wheaten/blue wheaten hens, I have a Dellie egg there, a salmon Faverolle, a polish, Ancona, 3 types of leghorns (PW, LB and CAW), a Cinnamon Queen, a Barred Rock, a Speckled Sussex and a black sex link. Fun group. Variety is the spice of life.

Within two years though, I imagine I will have only 4 breeds. B/B/S Ameraucanas, W/BW Ameraucanas, BCMarans and GCMarans. It's all I will have room for.
