Here are my three new chicks! This is my first time with chicks and the coop is being built at the moment. They are about 12 days old. The yellow one is an Ameraucana (from what I learned he's likely an Easter Egger) and so is the darker one towards the right. The striped one is a Penedesenca from what I was told. I can hardly find anything about this breed, but they don't seem especially suited to my situation now that I'm looking into it. I went to this farm with the breeds they offer that I was most interested in. Buff Orp, Barred Rock, Delaware, Sussex. But when I arrived there, he said there were certain ones he was able to sex, and these were the ones. I decided I'd be better off taking these than risking a rooster since I am in the city and I didn't especially want to deal with the options (giving/selling it or eating it. possibly needing to find other chickens if there were too many roosters, etc).

I'm really liking them! The yellow one is so scared of me though... Making the other two nervous too, I think. I will work on that. Only had them for 3 days afterall!

Aren't they CUTE (even if it's just a bad cell phone picture from above)?! I will post more later from the front. [IMG]

So many of them have similar looks! I don't know much about chicks and breeds myself... There's so much to learn!
