I'm sooooo excited, I just realized the one of my chocolate Muscovy ducklings is male! I've been breeding them for a few years and had plenty of the chocolate females, but never a male! [IMG] Now maybe someone can explain to me what it means genetically, 'cause I haven't a clue!

Thanks! How very cool, so when I breed him to some chocolate females I'll get more chocolate males. I also read somewhere that males without white are desirable? Is that true? I hope so, lol, 'cause he's solid and so are a bunch of the hens!

Not sure on the white part because even wild Scovy's have some white on their wings. But solid colors are sure pretty How old are these ducklings? asking because they change quite a lot from hatch till mature. you know your going to have to go to the Muscovy thread and post pics. That's just the law of the duck thread. [IMG]

I guess he's not really a duckling anymore, lol, I think he's about four months old, but I'm not sure. I'll definitely check out the Muscovy thread and try to get some pictures posted there.

OMG, I think there is another male! He's much younger (still has fluff), but his legs are huge compared to some of the older hens.
