My First Coop! (In Progress) Pic heavy.

It's finally that time! The chicken coop will be done before Monday! With just a few more things to do and a good coat of paint. Please tell me what you think, I'm all for constructive criticism this is my first build like ever... I just came up with this idea and went with it with the help of my mom. Its far from perfect but I'm proud of myself for doing it. Anyways here it is but take in note a few things I have left.

• Nest Box incomplete. (I plan on putting it up off the ground when i attach the bottom part. gotta grab a little more lumber tomorrow morning.
• Chicken Ramp not attached
• Lack of interior designs. (will do more tomorrow).
• Wire skirt halfway buried but not complete yet.

Also, this is my backyard where I plan to let them free range in a bit. I'm scared they will hope my gates and annoy the neighbors!

Also this is my inspirational for the nest box i'm making if you're curious.

Anyways whats it. Coop is 4x4x6 and the run is 6ft high 7long and 4 wide. Planning to have 4-5 chickens if they will fit. Anyways let me know what you guys think. Don't hold back

Wowzzza! You should be proud. I think you’re doing a great job. I’d like to start collecting materials this spring to build me a new coop. My current one is so small. I’d be thrilled if mine turned out as good as yours!

To be honest I’ve had mixed opinions about it haha. I saw it a lot some guys says it uses his and others don’t. So since I had the materials I figured why not we’ll see.

And thanks guys! I’ll keep updating when more stuff gets done.

Cool...my neighbor she built a shed out of disassembled pallets. She even separated them by color (wear and weathering). Nice slanted tin roof. It looked fabulous! I thought to myself wow! That’d be a really cool coop. So I think I’ll steal her idea!

I used plastic roofing and the run roof isn’t or shouldn’t be tilted at all I’ll have to fix that

I, too, have a swing and have tried several things to get the girls to use it. It is a round limb about 3" in diameter and only about 4" off the ground! I hang treats above it, like a mealworm cake, and the girls will jump up and peck at it rather than climbing on the swing. Bird brains!

It would be nice if you would put your location in your avatar, we are all curious and your building project looks very nice. Good luck.

Ok I'll add my location. And ill probably turn my chicken swing into an outdoor perch if they never use it. But I don't even have them yet so who knows haha.
