My cutie silkie girl, who has only gotten the chance to lay one little egg for me, is gone.

driving down my drive yesterday I saw what I thought was a dog, it was a coyote, and in its mouth, my
poor little silkie....she was too little to get away...

I rounded up the rest of the flock, and tucked them away...they may stay in the run for a day or so.
Too cold to free range anyway...-12* this am on the way to work.

Poor little one, I know they are chickens, but I hate to see one die like that.

[IMG] I am so sorry for your loss. I just had a close encounter with a hawk, had is succeeded with its mission I would have been heartbroken.

Any chance you're incubating the egg?
