Chicks should be arriving any day. I have my coo built and range fence up. I have a important question...

I ordered 15 pullets, will I need a Rooster in order for them to grow up to be laying hens?

Thanks!! I am very excited to get going!

Nope you dont need a rooster unless you want fertile eggs to hatch.

No rooster needed to get eggs! Enjoy!

Thanks!!! I thought that was the case. But I have an ornery old man up the road who said otherwise....

I cannot tell you how much I have learned on the BYC forum. What a wonderful member based participation tool.

    Pura Vida!

No need for a rooster. You'll have unfertilized eggs, but no worries there unless you want to hatch.
